The Necessity of Faithful Leadership

What does it truly mean to be faithful? That question sits at the heart of a message drawn from 1 Corinthians 4:1-5, where the Apostle Paul addresses a church divided over who to follow and why. We are reminded that faithfulness is not about status, visibility, or the size of our platform. It is about being full of faith, trusting that God's word is true and that He who called us is faithful to complete what He began. Paul uses two powerful images to frame this: the under-rower in a slave gallery, propelling a ship through sheer effort and submission, and the steward, entrusted with the master's household but owning none of it. Together, these images paint a picture of servant leadership that is radically different from what the world celebrates. We are managers of what belongs to God, not owners. And the measure of our stewardship is not how impressive our results look but whether we have been found faithful in the place and calling He assigned to us.
